Before Nov. 21, 2008 it was speculated that Oliver P. Leonard was the s/o Isaac Leonard and Christina Messersmith.  However receiving Oliver's death information from Benton County health department this is not true.  The Leonards are distantly related to the Messersmith according to my gr. g-ma O. Merl Leonard Vaughn.  This connection would have to come through Isaac and Christina somehow.  Isaac is the only Leonard to have married a Messersmith to my knowledge.  I have recently found quite a few "Leonard" headstones in Orange North cemetery and will pursue this direction.  I also found information that Owen Darby married Nancy Messersmith and the Messersmith connection may be through the Darby's.
